A small fire forced a short evacuation of the CHS Refinery in Laurel on Tuesday morning.
Spokeswoman Lani Jordan said the fire was reported at about 8:45 a.m. at the refinery.
"Operators in the unit quickly extinguished the fire, but refinery fire teams responded as a precaution," she said in a news release.
The refinery was temporarily evacuated, but everything was running normal by 9:30 a.m.
Jordan said the fire didn't affect refinery operations and that damage from the fire appears to be minimal.
The refinery notified necessary regulatory authorities as well.
The fire's cause remains under investigation.
