First Interstate Bank has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Volunteers of America for Camp POSTCARD (Peace Officers Striving To Create And Reinforce Dreams).

Law enforcement and school resource officers select fifth and sixth grade students from their communities to attend camp. Because of the financial situation in which most of these children live, they would not be able to afford the camp.

Volunteers of America is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing services to the needy that will help them rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Their services include children’s programs, veteran services, affordable housing for seniors, substance abuse treatment, services for the homeless, correctional services and community enhancement projects.

For more information about making a contribution to Volunteers of America and its programs or to take a tour of the programs offered, contact Dan Burkhart at 252-4118 or dburkhart@voanr.org.
