A man died Thursday afternoon in a car crash on King Avenue West, and another man was hospitalized, according to the Billings Police Department.
The man who was killed had been driving on Fallow Lane and apparently tried to turn onto King Avenue West when another vehicle hit the driver's side of his car, said BPD Sgt. Clyde Reid.
BPD crash scene investigators were still trying to determine what direction the man may have been turning, Reid said.
Reid described the man who died as an older man, and said he was trapped in the vehicle after the crash and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The man driving the other passenger car involved was taken to an area hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, Reid said.
The crash was reported at about 4 p.m.
Westbound lanes of King Avenue West remained closed as of 6 p.m. from 32nd Street West to Feather Place, Reid said. He estimated the road closure could remain in effect for another two hours.
