The Billings Library Foundation will kick off a week-long Banned Book Scavenger Hunt on Monday, Sept. 25, to draw awareness to the importance of libraries and the freedom to read.

Five well-known banned books will be covered in black paper and placed in locations throughout Billings. Anyone who wants to participate can go to the Facebook pages of the Library Foundation, Billings Public Library or Yellowstone Public Radio to get clues about the locations. The Library Foundation will post new clues daily to its Facebook page. If you figure out the location and find the book, take your picture with it and post it on the Library Foundation’s Facebook page. The book is yours to keep.

Prizes will be awarded to people who collect all five books. The grand prize is two VIP tickets to the Dec. 9 Foo Fighters concert at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. Other prizes include an autographed poster of Neil Gaiman and assorted gift cards.

The week-long scavenger hunt will conclude on Saturday, Sept. 30.
