Little League World Series consolation game canceled

With Hurricane Irene bearing down on the East Coast, Little League has moved its World Series championship game to noon Sunday and canceled Sunday's consolation game.

That means that if the Big Sky All-Stars from Billings lose the U.S. championship Saturday, their run at the Little League World Series will be over.

The Big Sky All-Stars play the West Region champs from Huntington Beach, Calif., in the U.S. championship at 1 p.m. MDT Saturday.

Japan and Mexico play in the international championship at 10 a.m. MDT.

The winners of those two games will play in the Little League World Series championship Sunday.

The losers of those two games had been scheduled to play a consolation game Sunday before the championship.
