The man shot Wednesday morning by two Billings Police officers remains in an area hospital where his condition has improved to "stable," according to a press release issued Thursday by BPD.
The man's name has still not yet been released, although Lt. Neil Lawrence told The Billings Gazette on Wednesday that the suspect is 36 years of age.
The police department is not releasing the man's name because he has not been charged with any crimes, Lawrence said Thursday.
The man was admitted to St. Vincent Healthcare in critical condition early Wednesday morning, according to BPD Chief Rich St. John. The suspect was shot "multiple times" by officers after pointing a shotgun at them at the Lazy K-T Motel, St. John told reporters at a press conference Wednesday morning.
The incident is still under investigation.
