Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is offering up to $1,000 for information that leads to the conviction of whoever illegally killed two deer south of Roundup, according to a news release.

Two mule deer were killed Sunday night off Fattig Creek Road in Roundup, a buck and a doe. Deer hunting season was closed at the time.

"The perpetrators field dressed both deer, a buck and a doe. They removed the doe carcass and just the buck’s head, leaving the buck carcass next to the road," the release states.

Waste of game meat is also a crime, the release adds.

Anyone with information can call FWP game warden Lee Burrough at 406-860-7802 or 1-800-TIP-MONT, which is a 24-hour wildlife tip line where people can report violations anonymously.
