Maurissa Gunn, 16, recently was crowned Miss Montana Teen USA 2013 at the state pageant in Missoula.

Kacie West, of the Flathead Valley, was crowned Miss Montana USA 2013.

Gunn is from Park City and attends Laurel High School.

Her accomplishments include academic all-state softball, varsity softball, varsity cheerleader, lettered in varsity softball, varsity cheerleader and academics, first runner-up Miss Montana Teen 2011, Miss Congeniality Miss Montana Teen 2011, lifeguard certification, CPR for professionals, first aid through American Red Cross.

Gunn will spend the next year promoting the state of Montana and working with alliances such as Special Olympics and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

She will compete for the title of Miss Teen USA at the national pageant, which is a Donald J. Trump and NBC Universal joint venture.

Other local finishers at the Miss Montana USA pageant: second runner-up, Destiny Schuck, of Billings; third runner-up, Mikal Forseth, of Huntley.

Other local finishers in the Miss Montana Teen USA pageant: first runner-up, Karlee Duncan, of Havre; second runner-up, Josie Baretta, of Billings.
