A 36-year-old Billings man was taken to the hospital Thursday night with serious injuries after a pickup truck crashed into his motorcycle in Lockwood.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Hagenbuch said the driver of a Chevrolet Colorado truck, a 42-year-year old Hardin man, was traveling southbound on Highway 87 East when he attempted to turn eastbound on Interstate 90 at about 8:45 p.m.

He failed to see the driver of the Yamaha motorcycle, who was traveling northbound on Highway 87, Hagenbuch said. The truck crashed into the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare. Lockwood Fire and Rescue, the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office and the MHP responded to the crash.

The driver of the pickup was cited for failure to yield right of way.
