A man who drove away from an officer trying to pull him over and then crashed into a snowbank was stunned with a stun gun and arrested Wednesday afternoon.
He was arrested on felony warrants, according to the Billings Police Department.
A member of the BPD Street Crimes Unit had tried to pull the man over on the 700 block of Terry Avenue, but the man continued driving and turned north onto Eighth Street West, said BPD Sgt. Riley Finnegan.
The man spun out, lost control on Eighth Street West and crashed into a snowbank shortly before 5 p.m.
The officer who tried to pull him over didn't follow the man. Another nearby officer approached the SUV after it crashed into the snowbank, Finnegan said.
"He was actively trying to get (the car) out of the snowbank," when an officer stunned the man with a stun gun, Finnegan said.
American Medical Response checked the man, and he chose not to be treated, Finnegan said.
Police had been looking for the man for at least a month and he may have evaded arrest at least three different times, Finnegan said.
Finnegan didn't elaborate on the warrants that led to the man's arrest.
