The Montana Women's Prison warden, Jo Acton, was placed on administrative leave with pay on Wednesday by the Department of Human Resources Bureau.

Acton's leave is pending a review of prison operations as a result of a personnel matter, Bob Anez, communications director for the Montana Department of Corrections, said Thursday afternoon.

Deputy wardens Bob Paul, warden of security, and Joan Daly, warden for treatment, continue to operate the prison in their regular assigned duties. They will also cover management needs in place of Acton during her leave, Anez said.

Acton has been warden since 1995, Anez said, operating the prison that houses 194 inmates.
