The Billings Food Bank is hosting the Canstruction Annual Design and Build Competition. Registrations and designs are due by June 21, and teams will construct their sculptures in 12 hours on July 27.
Canstruction is a competition featuring colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food.
After the structures are built, the creations go on display at the Food Bank as part of a giant art exhibition. At the end of the event, all food is distributed through the Billings Food Bank.
Design teams comprised of architects, engineers and design professionals create sculptures based on the theme “Top Ten Business Categories in Montana.”
Sculptures must depict one of the following businesses: Medical, Construction, Agriculture, Finance, Transportation, Energy, Recreation/Entertainment/Tourism, Education, Retail or Nonprofit.
Teams need to submit registration and designs by June 21.
Teams will construct their sculptures in 12 hours on July 27.
People will have the opportunity to view the sculptures and vote for their favorites on Facebook or in person at the Food Bank. The event will culminate on Aug. 1 during ArtWalk when winners are announced.
