Above-normal temperatures could cause increased snow melt over the next few days, especially in parts of southern Montana, but that will also make Saturday a great day for Easter egg hunts.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of central, south central and southeastern Montana, as well as north central Wyoming, with warmer than usual temperatures expected Saturday through Tuesday. The snow melt could lead to rising water levels in some rivers and streams.
Then, a Pacific storm system expected to arrive Tuesday night and remain through Thursday could bring a good chance of showers in lower elevations and snow in the mountains.
For Billings on Saturday, expect a sunny day with a high near 70 and southwest winds around 11 mph. Saturday evening will be mostly clear with a low around 39 degrees.
On Sunday, look for sun with a high near 68 degrees, and Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low around 36 degrees.
