Another 3 to 4 inches of snow is expected to continue falling through Monday morning, after close to a foot already fell in Billings over the weekend.

A brief intrusion of warm air from the southwest also caused a layer of freezing rain to fall in the area Sunday evening, making for slick surfaces on roadways.

The heaviest period of snowfall is expected to taper off by late morning, according to the National Weather Service, but light snow is expected to continue into the night.

Temperatures are expected to begin warming up by Wednesday, with another round of snow possible later in the week.
