Despite sunny skies, temperatures in Billings will stay below freezing today with wind-chill values as low as minus 10, according to the National Weather Service.

Wind speeds are expected to remain around 14 to 16 mph in town, with stronger crosswinds and blowing snow farther west along Interstate 90, according to NWS — particularly in the Big Timber area.

Overnight, temperatures are expected to dip to 17 degrees.

Billings is forecast to finally see a partial thaw Wednesday and Thursday, when high temperatures could reach a balmy 34 degrees.

More snow is possible Friday, with high temperatures in the mid-40s potentially producing rain at lower elevations.
