Here's a list of unsolved murders and unexplained deaths in Yellowstone County:
Jeannette "Charlie" Rene Atwater Age: 34 Date of death: Jan. 16, 2000 Officials found Atwater's body after the Billings Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a burning car in a parking lot off Bench Boulevard that serves the MetraPark Trail bike path. Crews found the car engulfed in flames. The fire destroyed the car and left a charred patch in the middle of the parking lot. In the process of dousing the fire, crews forced open the trunk and found the body. The corpse was so badly burned, officials couldn't identify its race, age or gender.
Atwater was spotted at a bar earlier in the evening, according to Yellowstone County sheriff's detective. More than 100 employees and patrons of the bar have been interviewed. Detectives said Atwater burned to death in the car.

A Laurel ambulance drove her to the parking lot of Laurel High School and a helicopter from Billings flew her to St. Vincent Healthcare. Fenner died about two hours later.
