Car fire

A car was destroyed in a suspected arson fire Tuesday morning at 12th Avenue North and North 30th Street.

Billings police and firefighters responded to a car engulfed in flames Tuesday morning parked on 12th Avenue North in downtown Billings, across North 30th Street from St. Vincent Healthcare.

No one was in the car at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported, according to a press release from the Fire Department. Reported at about 5:30 a.m., the fire caused an estimated $15,000 in damage.

Both the car and its contents were insured, the release stated.

The incident is being investigated as an arson, and a suspect is in custody after turning himself in to the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, according to the Billings Police Department.
