A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial arrived in Billings on Wednesday, drawing scores of vets to honor fallen service members.

The replica, parked at Will James Middle School, has been traveling the U.S. since 1996. It’s part of a larger exhibit, displayed on the sides of a semitrailer, that educates the public about the Vietnam War and pays tribute to the Americans who fought in it.

Locals are encouraged to attend an opening ceremony for the wall’s Billings stay on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the middle school, 1200 30th St. W. The exhibit is open to the public until 3 p.m. Sunday.

The exhibit’s last stop was in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Next up is Spokane, Washington. It will be in Kalispell from Sept. 7-10.
