After a chilly Wednesday, warmer weather is expected to remain in the Billings area through the weekend.

The National Weather Service expects be mostly cloudy skies Thursday, as temperatures approach 60. 

By nightfall, clouds will dissipate, and lows will fall to 39. 

A 40 percent chance of showers after noon Friday. Skies will be partly sunny and highs could reach into the mid 60s. 

A chance of showers will persist Friday night, as skies become mostly cloudy. Lows will reach 38, and a light breeze of 9 to 16 mph is likely.

According to the NWS, a storm with the potential to cause heavy rains may come through the area early next week, but much remains unknown about the storm. More details about where and when the storm will occur should be available over the weekend.
