A woman admitted to charges Thursday related to a Christmas Day escape from a Billings prerelease center third floor window that left another inmate with a broken leg.

Cinnamon Maray O’Donnell, 24, pleaded guilty to felony escape before Judge Mary Jane Knisely in Yellowstone County District Court.

According to court documents, O’Donnell tied bed sheets together to escape from a third story window at Passages Women's Center. Another inmate tried to stop her but fell from the window in the process. She broke her leg in the fall.

Responding Billings Police Department officers followed O’Donnell’s tracks in the snow to a residence on the 900 block of South 31st Street. A man at the home opened the door for police and informed officers O’Donnell was inside and he did not know what was going on. She was then taken into custody.

O’Donnell is scheduled for sentencing Tuesday. She faces up to 10 years in prison for the escape. She was previously sentenced on Nov. 22 to five years with the Department of Corrections for criminal endangerment.
