Ups and Downs

Up: To Riverstone Health for 30 years of public health service and helping keep the community healthy. Not only does this organization have a huge job, but it does a great job being a partner and good leader in community health care issues.

Down: As one observer at Monday night's long city council meeting noted, "there were more blue shirts there than orange or white at the end." There seemed to be more police there than the orange-shirted NDO supporters or the white-shirted NDO opponents. Hopefully, we weren't that close to mayhem.

Up: To the Yellowstone County Commissioners who found a way to pay for the jail expansion and now will only need to ask for operational support.

Down: That we actually need to expand the jail. While it's a fact of life, it never feels great when you have to say your jail is growing.
