Righteous regents. We applaud the appointment of Billings attorney Martha Sheehy to the Montana Board of Regents. A graduate of the University of Montana law school, Sheehy is a past president of the Montana Bar Association and has volunteered on more court, community and education boards than we can count. Gov. Steve Bullock made another excellent choice in naming William A. Johnstone, president and CEO of D.A. Davidson Cos. as a new regent. Johnstone is a graduate of Montana State University in Bozeman and has been an instructor at the UM Law School.

Downhill racers. Congratulations to the Rocky Mountain College ski team for winning their first national women’s team title and sweeping individual women’s and men’s races at the U.S. Collegiate Ski Association Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y.

More RMC champs. Congratulations also to the RMC men’s basketball team who won the Frontier Conference championship for the second year in a row.

Bear country safety. ZooMontana presented an exceptionally informative bear event where visitors watched Ozzie and Bruno quickly destroy camping equipment and picnic food containers set up in the bear exhibit.

Only the special bear-resistant food locker withstood the bears’ immense strength.
