Against the Beach injustice

I recently read the letter to the editor in the Aug. 11 edition, submitted by Diane Foley.

Two months ago, I was talking to a former resident of Poplar who was living there at the time of the killing by Barry Beach. This elderly person gave me the name of the cop who was on duty at the time, although he has passed away. The woman I talked to, a Poplar native, also told me that the Beach family was a respectable family in Poplar.

Barry Beach was only 17 years old at the time and may have possibly consumed too much alcohol, which would have caused one to be unable to defend oneself from arrest and to prove his innocence.

I needed to write this because I am very much against injustice.
