In August I had occasion to go out to the Indian Caves, which I had not been to in years. I was very disappointed there was nothing left of the Indian paintings but a few smears. Yes, you can look into a glass container and see what was once, but as a tourist and if I had traveled eight miles off the interstate to see only a cave and a nice visitors center, I would be disappointed.
Why, why, why doesn’t the parks department at the state level commission some of Montana’s Native American artists to repaint, redo, refurbish the original art? That would make Montana “do proud.”
