Thank you, friends of Highland Elementary, for a successful Walk-a-thon fundraiser!

The students and parents of Highland Elementary exceeded their fundraising goal during their annual fall fundraiser held in conjunction with International Walk to School Week.

This year family, friends and community members made generous contributions to the Highland PTSA to support our students as they walked, biked or scootered to school each day Oct. 4-8. These funds allow the PTSA to provide, maintain and expand two much-needed laptop computer labs, replenish the library’s book collection with new titles and provide grants to teachers for classroom use.

Highland Elementary is one of Billings’ oldest neighborhood schools where most children who attend live within walking distance of the school. Highland Elementary continues to build participation in this event every year. To make it safer and easier for children to get to school, the PTSA organized walking “bus stops” where students could meet and then proceed to school as a group with adults providing supervision.
