Let us just say how much we loved the Sunday, June 24, Gazette coverage of the "Petitioners rally against East Rosebud hydropower project" article. The rally itself was amazing — providing documentation and commentary about how the proposed dam would endanger fish and wildlife, not to mention how it would weaken the healthy flow of creek water for recreation and scenic beauty.
We are firmly set against such a violation of our rights as residents of East Rosebud. The dam won't produce enough electricity to make it worth the fuss, yet it will destroy valuable riparian wildlife and diminish the beauty of the area. We join the nearly thousand of other interested Montanans in their fight to designate the upper portion of East Rosebud Creek as a Wild and Scenic River.
