Congratulations to the Lockwood Sewer Board! They have succeeded in fracturing the community.
We have over 160 families who voted no on building a sewer line, and they are extremely upset and irate that their wishes were ignored. A lady on the board said that that number is insignificant. We're not talking about nickels and dimes here. To run the sewer lines down the streets will cost each lot owner almost $500 a year in taxes for 30 years.
I suggest that the board reconsider their action and instead ask for a yes vote to see how many really want a sewer line. The board can't consist of all toadies. There must be someone who would speak up and say what we did is just not right. If more yes votes would come in than the no votes already recorded, then it would be the will of the people and not the will of the board. We all would have to live with it then. That's the way democracy works.
