With four Republican candidates in the primary for Yellowstone County treasurer/assessor/superintendent of schools, it is important to look at the qualifications of each candidate.

This office requires knowledge, leadership and experience for the department to run effectively and efficiently.

Knowledge in state laws which govern much of the operation of the various aspects of this office as well as expertise in the multiple responsibilities.

Leadership in management and forward thinking with innovative cost- and time-saving techniques.

Experience with the current procedures and technology and where these can be further advanced.

Marci Shafer is this candidate. She has worked in the Treasurer's Office for the past 13 years and is currently the property tax specialist supervisor. Shafer is the only candidate who has offered solutions to save the county and taxpayers money and time. She has the foresight and willingness to work with legislators and staff to make changes where necessary. With her knowledge, leadership and experience, Shafer will also bring respect to the Treasurer's Office. Please vote for Marci Shafer as the next county treasurer.
