Research Common Core for yourself. I started researching CC when my fourth-grader brought absurd math work home. This math, called TERC or investigations math, was tried in the U.S. twice already but failed. The standards are developmentally inappropriate. Please Google child psychologists Dr. Megan Koschmick and Dr. Gary Thompson and also Mary Calamia. They all warn of the psychological dangers of the standards. The national testing not only tests academics, but attitudes, behaviors and beliefs and creates a longitudinal database on your child. I have serious privacy concerns about this.

You can download an opt out form on Montanansagainstcommoncore.com. Currently there are 23 states wanting out, countless Facebook pages and 40,000 educators against CC.
