Kudos to The Gazette for supporting public information on Montana real estate transactions. This reform is long overdue for our state, one of only 11 which fear the sunlight of public information in real estate transactions. Democratic legislators can vote yes for reform because they proclaim they are the people's party and Republicans can do so because they laud free market values. Both views are furthered by this reform legislation.
Public real estate information helps prevent mortgage seekers from making dangerous financial decisions based upon guesstimates and a lack of solid and complete information. A vote for full disclosure will be a great step in furthering Montana's prosperity and financial security.
