Rejection of NDO shows there is bigotry

How strange to wake up in the morning and learn that the nondiscrimination ordinance had failed six to five. I think the fact that it failed is a clear indication that bigotry and homophobia do exist in Billings even among some City Council members and our mayor, Tom Hanel. Frankly I am embarrassed for them.

The two arguments that seem reasonable to me regarding homosexuality are, one, God made us all and He does not make mistakes and, two, at what age did you choose to be heterosexual?

Recently I sent an email to the man who bought the ad in The Gazette against the NDO, I used those arguments with him. His response was "there's no proof that homosexuality is inborn."

I find it so puzzling that people claiming to be Christians can be so ignorant about gender and sexuality. But then I think many of those folks simply do not believe in science, period. There is little hope such people will change their thinking.
