I appreciated Mike Dennison's article. As a business leader, I value and understand the importance of education. It saddens me to see the conditions of many of our schools in Billings. How can we say we care about our children and their futures when they go to schools that should have been torn down years ago and new ones erected? How can we say we care about our children and allow them to go to classes that are overcrowded because we should have built new ones years ago? How can we say we care when we do not have enough teachers? It seems to me that we do not care and that our legislators do not "really" care.
I am a very conservative person, but I love kids and know that we must invest in our children's futures if we want to make Montana great. It starts and ends in a great education.
To our legislators and governor, please do not send me $450 as a rebate — invest in our schools, our children and our futures. Please put money where we can get our best return — our children and their educations.
