The front page ''news'' article allowing Congressman Daines to describe his voting record as pragmatic lacked reality. Daines has voted repeatedly to give away the farm to big financial institutions while attacking programs that help seniors and the disadvantaged. He voted to strip food stamps from the Farm Bill and drastically cut food assistance programs that help put food on the table for millions of children, low-wage workers, seniors and veterans while voting for corporate welfare programs that help Wall Street. I didn't think he could be more of a hypocrite.
I was wrong. His hypocrisy knows no bounds. After voting to cut $40 billion from the food assistance program that helps millions of this nation's needy and voting against legislation to help fund Meals on Wheels, Daines made a Missoula photo op last week that he had the gall to post on Facebook. Go there and check out his big grin in his staged Meals on Wheels photo with his cunning message implying that he actually cares.
In this time of duplicity and double speak, his Meals on Wheels photo op is just as phony as his claiming to be a fifth-generation Montanan when he was born in California. Ask yourself, why bother trying to mislead us into believing he was born in this state? Then ask yourself, why would we consider voting for this hypocrite for the United States Senate?
