One of the joys in being an American, is in the rich and abundant heritage of our fellow Americans. In Billings, our differences translate to our families, friendships, our neighborhoods, our arts, our foods, our lifestyle choices, and our businesses. All of this makes Billings the flourishing city it is.

The 20th Anniversary Gathering of Not In Our Town takes place this next weekend, June 20-22, in Billings. We will commemorate how Billings stood up to hate crimes inflicted upon some of our residents. One of those crimes was a rock being thrown through the bedroom window of a 6-year-old Jewish boy.

Not In Our town was created in Billings and is now a national movement.

The NIOT 20th Anniversary Celebration has come full circle, back to its city of origin, Billings.

I am proud to be a part of NIOT, promoting tolerance, kindness, and inclusiveness in Billings, regardless of our color, race, creed, or sexual orientation.
