Good Monday morning, western Montana! The National Weather Service says we have a chance of snow before 11 a.m., then a chance of afternoon rain showers. Today's high temperature should reach 42 degrees in the valleys. Winds will be from the southwest at 6-16 mph, with gusts to 29 mph.

Tonight, the forecasters say rain is likely before 11, then there's a chance of snow. Overnight lows will drop to 28 degrees, with westerly winds of 10-17 mph and gusts to 29 mph.

Here is the Weather Service's day-by-day forecast for the week ahead:

Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday Night: Rain likely before 11pm, then rain and snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West southwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. West wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Thursday: Snow showers. High near 36. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Thursday Night: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Friday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.

Friday Night: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 18.

Saturday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.

Sunday: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
