HELENA — Sen. Jon Tester has named a Billings native to oversee his 2012 campaign.

Tester announced Thursday that Preston Elliot will be his campaign director as he seeks a second six-year term in the U.S. Senate.

Elliott served as field director for the Montana Democratic Party during 2006, when Tester was elected to the Senate. He served as deputy political director with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee before running the coordinated campaign for the Nevada State Democratic Party in 2010.

Elliott is a 1996 graduate of Billings Central High School.
