HELENA - The Montana university system is again extending registration and other deadlines for students fighting wildfires in the state.

The Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education says student firefighters will have two weeks past the start of the fall semester to finalize their registration, financial aid and housing.

The extension applies to students directly involved in firefighting, as well as those providing support services for crews.

Student firefighters must call their campuses by Aug. 24 to receive the extension for courses they have pre-registered for.
