A Plentywood woman working as a nurse in Billings recently admitted to federal child pornography charges after investigators found hundreds of images on her computer.
Denise Marsh Carlson, 47, pleaded guilty June 15 in U.S. District Court in Great Falls to receipt of child porn.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia Hurd said a child porn investigation last year by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement led to Carlson. When agents questioned Carlson at her Billings residence, she admitted using file-sharing software to receive hundreds of child porn images and videos since 1999. Agents seized her computer and found child porn images.
Carlson faces a mandatory minimum of five years to 20 years in prison and a maximum $250,000 fine. U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon set sentencing for Sept. 21. Carlson is in custody.
