KALISPELL - A Kalispell man and a Columbia Falls woman have pleaded not guilty in the April hold-up of a Whitefish hotel.
Nineteen-year-old Irvine pleaded not guilty to robbery and 18-year-old Chappel pleaded not guilty to accountability to robbery.
Both were arraigned Thursday.
On April 7, Whitefish police responded about 11 p.m. to the Holiday Inn Express on U.S., after a man confronted the night clerk with what was described as a bomb or bear spray. He escaped with more than $400 from the cash register.
Chappel was a hotel employee at the time. It's alleged that Chappel showed Irvine a large amount of cash in the money drawer; and that Irvine went to the hotel and took the cash after Chappel finished her shift.
The lone employee behind the front desk was not injured.
