BOZEMAN — Authorities say six children and a driver were trapped in a Belgrade school bus for nearly 40 minutes as crews removed a power line that had fallen on the front of the vehicle.

Police Chief E.J. Clark says a tree branch broken by high winds snapped the 7,200-volt line at about 4 p.m. Thursday. No one was injured.

Central Valley Fire Operations Chief Kevin Strickler said it is unclear if the line remained active while the students were on the bus, but it was definitely live when it first hit the vehicle.
