Law enforcement officials found the body of a missing 21-year-old Lame Deer woman Monday evening on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation.
The body of Hanna Deann Harris was found west of Lame Deer and south of U.S. Highway 212, said Allen Fulton, the Rosebud County coroner.
The cause of death was not released on Tuesday afternoon, but Fulton said an autopsy was performed Tuesday morning and the Bureau of Indian Affairs and FBI were involved in investigating the death.
He declined to comment further on the case, citing the ongoing investigation.
A spokesperson for the FBI's Salt Lake Division confirmed the agency is involved in investigating the death of a woman who matches the description of a person who went missing.
"FBI special agents will continue to work with our law enforcement partners at the BIA to investigate this case," said Debbie Dujanovic Bertram, FBI public affairs specialist.
