BOZEMAN — The former JBs Restaurant building in Bozeman is being demolished and the property is for sale for $1.2 million.

Commercial real estate agent Dennis Hardin says a Nebraska company bought the building and 1-acre site after JBs closed in 2010. He did not name the company.

Hardin says he has spoken with several restaurant chains and retail businesses about buying or leasing a new building on the site, near the intersection of 19th Avenue and West Main Street.

In that same area, Safeway demolished a car dealership and built a new grocery store last summer. This summer, CVS Pharmacy plans to raze the car showroom across the street and build a new store.

Demolition work started Wednesday and Hardin says it should be done by the end of the week.
