HELENA — Gov. Steve Bullock is releasing a health plan for the state that focuses on promotion and prevention.
Bullock said Thursday the partnership will involve local and tribal governments and will encourage residents to take responsibility for their own health.
The first-term Democrat says that includes staying active, eating well, getting immunizations and regular medical care, and taking steps to prevent injury.
The governor says a healthier state helps improve the economy.
The plan will focus on promoting chronic disease management and the health of mothers and their children. An effort will be made to help prevent communicable disease, reduce injuries and exposure to health hazards.
An oversight board will be appointed to oversee and implement the plan.
