HELENA — Gov. Steve Bullock will give his first State of the State address Wednesday night to a joint session of the Montana Legislature.

He will deliver the speech at 7 in the chambers of the House of Representatives.

The address will be broadcast live on television by Montana PBS and on radio by Montana Public Radio and Yellowstone Public Radio.

In November, Bullock was elected Montana’s 24th governor.

In the speech, he will outline his plans to create jobs, expand educational opportunities and build a more effective government.

Rep. Austin Knudsen, R-Culbertson, will deliver the Republican response. He is the speaker pro tempore of the House.

The Billings Gazette will be streaming video of the State of State and hosting a live state-wide chat. Readers are encouraged to share their comments by tweeting #mtpol or entering comments at billingsgazette.com/live starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
