A Circle man accused of having child pornography on his computer denied federal charges in Billings on Tuesday.

Matthew Stoney Olson, 37, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with receipt and possession of child porn during an arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn Ostby.

The indictment alleges Olson received and possessed the material through his computer from April 4, 2015, through June 9, 2015, in Circle.

If convicted, Olson faces mandatory minimum five years to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine along with a $5,000 mandatory special assessment on the receipt count.

Ostby continued Olson’s release pending trial. The case will be heard by U.S. District Judge Susan Watters.
