Divers are searching the southern end of East Rosebud Lake in Carbon County for the body of a man in his mid-20s who drowned while swimming with friends on Wednesday.
The Carbon County Sheriff's Office received a report of the drowning at about 3 p.m. Divers from Billings began the search on Wednesday, aided by divers from Gallatin County on Thursday. Stillwater County provided a jet boat and two personal watercraft.
The name of the man is not being released while family is being notified.
The drowning is the fourth this month in the region. Earlier in July an infant and an angler drowned on the same day on the lower Stillwater River and a 54-year-old man drowned after his raft capsized on Lake Elmo in the Billings Heights.
So far this year in Montana, seven people have drowned. In June a 6-year-old girl drowned in the Bitterroot River and a woman drowned in Spring Creek near Lewistown, in May a transient drowned in Alkali Creek and a 4-year-old drowned in January in a pond at Seeley Lake.
