BUTTE — A 27-year-old Butte man is accused of grappling with police officers and attempting to pull a knife during the altercation.

Barry Charles Butori faces a felony charge of assault on a peace officer along with a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. Police say a resident on the 600 block of South Dakota Street called Thursday afternoon to report a wanted man was in the neighborhood. Butori has a misdemeanor warrant out of Missoula. Police found Butori in the street and he attempted to run into a residence. Officers ended up wrestling with Butori, who then attempted to grab a knife twice, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Butori remains in jail on $27,000 bond.
