GREAT FALLS — Authorities say a fire truck overturned after colliding with another vehicle as they were headed to a grass fire near Vaughn.

Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards said the driver was alert and talking after Tuesday's crash. The man was transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure.

Trooper David Baggs of the Montana Highway Patrol says the Fort Shaw Volunteer Fire Department truck missed a turnoff and was making a U-Turn when a water carrier from the fire department struck it.

The driver of the water carrier declined medical attention.
