BOZEMAN - The Montana Board of Regents has approved two certificate programs to be offered through Gallatin College Programs, starting this fall in Bozeman.
Montana State University says applications are being accepted now for the medical assistant and bookkeeping certificate programs. Both lead to certificates in applied science and will take a year to complete.
Bob Hietala, the dean of Gallatin College Program, says the certificate programs help satisfy critical workforce demands of employers in the Bozeman area.
Both classes will be taught in a vacant wing at Bozeman High School. Hietala says the college is looking at offering some bookkeeping courses online.
Gallatin College Programs also offers a certificate in welding and associate degrees in interior design, aviation and design drafting.
