MISSOULA — An 83-year-old Hamilton man was arrested for attempted deliberate homicide Saturday for allegedly hitting another man with a pickup truck after an argument.

According to Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman, Thomas Esley Day was taken into custody after an investigation indicated that he intentionally struck the 64-year-old victim who had been staying with Day at his residence west of Corvallis, where the incident occurred.

The victim suffered injuries to his head and was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. He was in stable condition. No other details of the incident were available.

Day was arraigned in Ravalli County Justice Court on Monday afternoon. Judge Jim Bailey set bail at $25,000.
